Quality Cutting Tools Inc. (QCT) respects your privacy. This page explains what personal information this website collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- When you use the contact form: your name, company, email address, phone number, the branch you pick and your message. Only the name, email and message are required.
- When you email or call us: what you send or tell us.
- When you browse the site: analytics information about your visit, such as the pages you view, how you arrived, your device and browser type, your approximate location based on your IP address, and how you scroll and click. See "Analytics and cookies" below.
We do not sell personal information.
How we use it
- To answer your question or quote request, and to follow up on it.
- To understand how the site is used, so we can improve it.
- To protect the site and our inbox from spam and abuse.
Who handles it for us
- Contact form messages are emailed to QCT's sales team. A copy goes to Sojourn Digital, the company that runs this website for QCT, so that no message is lost.
- The website is hosted by Kinsta.
- Google reCAPTCHA checks that the contact form is sent by a person. Google's privacy policy and terms apply to that check.
- Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, loaded through Google Tag Manager, measure how the site is used.
- These providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessed under the laws of that country.
Analytics and cookies
- This site uses cookies and similar browser storage for Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. They show us which pages help visitors and where visitors get stuck.
- Microsoft Clarity records clicks, scrolling and mouse movement. It hides what you type into form fields.
- We do not use advertising or tracking cookies on this site.
- You can say no. Choose "Opt out" in the cookie notice, or use "Cookie choices" at the bottom of any page. After you opt out, this site stops loading Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity in that browser. Your choice is saved in your browser, so clearing your browser data, or using another browser or device, shows the notice again.
- You can also block cookies in your browser's settings.
How long we keep it
- We keep contact form messages and emails as long as we need them to answer you and to keep normal business records, and then delete them.
- Analytics providers keep visit data for a limited time: Google Analytics for at most 14 months, and Microsoft Clarity for up to 13 months.
Your choices and rights
- You can ask to see the personal information QCT holds about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent, subject to legal and contractual limits.
- If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
